Testing

Circuit integrity under fire conditions test

This method determines the cable functionality during a fire. The cable is approved if there is no short-circuit between individual wires, wires and screening and no circuit interruption. The test is performed on a testing equipment according to ČSN IEC 60 331 standard.
Circuit integrity under fire conditions test - cables for emergency circuits

This test is performed according to ČSN EN 50 200 standard and verifies cable functionality under fire conditions (simulated fire including mechanical stress). The cable is fixed to a non-flammable slab by clips, which are normally used at the real installation.
Test of vertical flame spread on bundled cables

This testing methods checks cable bundle under fire conditions. It mainly concerns cable bundles installed in building installation shafts. The test is performed using the equipment described in ČSN EN 50 266 standard and under the conditions defined by this standard.
Test of vertical flame propagation on a single cable

The test is performed on equipment according to ČSN EN 50265 standard. This standard fully amends and replaces the former ČSN IEC 332 standard.
Test of combustion gases evolved from cable materials in case of fire

This test monitors corrosive effects of non-metallic cable materials on surrounding areas in case of fire. It is performed according to ČSN EN 50267 standard.
Reduction factor testing

To assess the quality of cable screening with respect to outer electromagnetic
field-effects according to VDE 0472 Teil 507.
Smoke density

Measuring of smoke density exhaling from cables in fire conditions based on requirements of ČSN EN 50268 and ČSN EN 61034 standards. This test is used to determine the burning cable influence on visibility in areas with higher concentration of people.
Oxygen number

To determine cable flammability using the oxygen number - according to ČSN EN ISO 4589 standard. This test is used to determine flammability of insulation and sheathing materials of cables and plastics in general.
CPD

This test according to EN 50399:2007 determines the cable classification based on its reaction to fire. Individual cable classification depends on amount and rate of generated heat, rate of flame propagation (FIGRA) and scope of flame propagation.
The testing method uses the same equipment as in ČSN EN 50266 standard extended with combustion gases analysis system.
